Q: I have a metallic red 2006 kia spectra?
Is there a way i could customize the KIA logo on my car to another 3 letter word. Also where could I go online to find custom parts for the exterior part of the car.
A: Are you a heavy metal fan you could change it to DIO or after the wiring harness melts because you had a cool stereo installed and the harnesses in kia autos are poorly made you might change it to POS
Q: Is there a place to run a power wire through the firewall of a 2006 Kia Spectra ?
Need to run a positive wire for an amp. and can't see a place to run through firewall,,,,do I have to drill?
A: Almost all cars should have a hole in the firewall for body electrical to power. Look to see where your engine harness goes into your car where the ecu is located. Usually a big black rubber boot that covers it.
Q: Does anyone have a 2006 Kia spectra?
how do you like it? I am considering buying a 2006 kia spectra with 14k miles on it for $11500 do you think thats a deal?
A: I bought an '06 Spectra SX, for $11900 with 7k miles. I really like the car. It feels solid, and driving it is just fun. I was gonna get an '05 Civic but I've had Hondas all my life, and after test driving the Spectra I realized that it was as well built as any of my other hondas. So I got it and am happy with it. Stoked about the warranty.

Q: When can I trade my 2006 Kia Spectra?
I've had it for one week. It seemed peppy and smooth when I was looking to get out of a 10 year old vehicle. Now it feels like I'm driving a box of rocks over roadkill. How long do I have to keep this thing before trading up?
A: i would say another week.... trust me kia, hundai, and American cars are not good cars. if you want another car then you can trade it for some really good cars Like and Honda, Toyota, Or a Nissan. i would personally go with an Honda Accord V6, u can too but i dont think they will give u more than 3,000 dollar discount for your car. LOL
Q: I'm planning to but a 2006 Kia Spectra. How reliable are these cars?
A: Go to Consumerreport.org for an accurate report on how reliable any car is -as reported by current owners.
Q: where can I run a hot wire through the firewall on my 2006 kia spectra?
A: Sometimes there will be a preexisting hole that is not being used, and is just plugged up with a rubber stopper (for example, a clutch cable hole in a car with an automatic transmission). Other times you will have to make your own. The bottom of the firewall near the floorboards is usually a good spot, just check carefully to make sure there's nothing on either side you are going to punch through. Don't forget to use a grommet to protect the insulation on your wire.
Q: Alarm and radio on 2006 Kia Spectra Ex, stopped working i need to know the placement of the fusebox?
IT WAS WORKING THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STOPPED, WHERE IS THE FUSEBOX FOR ALARM AND RADIO LOCATED
A: either under the dash on the drivers side or under the hood
Q: where can i find a 2006 kia spectra stereo kit?
A: depends if it is stock, the dealer, and if it broke and you want a stock your warrenty will cover it., but e-bay, and pioneer, you can put anything in it from a single deck to a twin deck.
Q: how do i install a clutch in a 2006 kia spectra?
A: Get a shop manual, the official factory manuals are usually best, but an aftermarket one (Chiltons, Haynes) is usually better than nothing. Judging by the front-wheel-drive clutch replacement jobs I've witnessed, this is not something to tackle without plenty of information.
Q: I have a new 2006 Kia spectra, the paint is coming off they have painted it 3 times!! Why can't they trade?
Does anyone else have the same problem
A: Megan,
I am sure at this point you are at your wits end. I would advise you to look in the paperwork they gave you when you bought the car for the Lemon Law advice pamphlet. This will give you an idea as to the lemon law in your state.
Now, it is possible you could make a claim against Kia under the lemon law, but I am kind of doubtful. Thus, what I would suggest is to take you vehicle to at least 3 different auto paint shops in your area and ask for quotes to repaint your car to the original color and finish. In all three of these quotes, have the paint shop quote you the price for just the affected area and the entire car.
Once you have these three quotes, I would then go to see the dealership General Manager (take the complete work orders from the three previous paint jobs with you) and ask him point blank, " What are we going to do now?".
This is where it will get fuzzy; Kia has had a paint issue for sometime. Now, as a company in business to make money, the corporate decision makers will have come up with a number in which they feel that it is no longer viable to continue this argument over your paint job. Unfortunately, it falls upon you to get them to this point.
My suggestion is to entice them to make a cash settlement. You will sign away any further claim on paint for your car if they will pay a complete paint job by an outsider. Now, my suggestion is to really harp on this point, and to consider if say the dealership made you a very, very, good deal on a new car, would this make you happy.
I have done the following example below to help you negotiate a very good deal. You will have to do a little math on your own and be very shrewd in your negotiations.
$15000.00----What you paid for your car last year.
minus$3000.00------Any down payment or trade-in you were
allowed in the deal.
minus$4000.00-----The PRINCIPAL (not any interest) you have
paid on the auto loan in the past year.
$8000.00----Remaining on the auto loan.
$24000.00---Sticker Price on New Car
minus$18000.00---TRADE-IN for your current car and your
trouble.
plus$8000.00----Still owed to the bank
$14000.00---Remainder to finance, well below the book
value of any 2007.
I hope it works out. Most dealerships are connected to several different manufactures; so don't feel stuck with Kia.
I am confident that if you stick to your guns and tough it out, you will come out pretty well.
Q: My friend have a 2006 KIA Spectra and his clutch is going out at 12,800 something miles?
he took the car to the dealership and they said the clutch is worn out which I think it BS because Ive never herd of a clutch go out at that low of miles and he have a bumper to bumper warranty he have every warranty that the dealership provides and the dealership said that the clutch is not under warranty so my friend will have to shell out 1,300 for a new one and he dont have that kind of money.
A: A clutch is a wear item. New-car warranties generally don't cover such things unless there was a defect from the factory. GM and Nissan had brake-warp issues and, even though brakes are a wear-item, both companies' replaced customer's brakes within the warranty period since it was a known issue to the company.
There could be any number of reasons why your friend's Kia's clutch is worn out. How does he drive it? Perhaps he rides the clutch or lets it slip or is generally abusive. Maybe the dealership was able to ascertain that sort of information from inspecting it--thereby ruling out a factory or design-related defect.
If he's going to the dealership from where he purchased the car, have him speak to the service manager directly. Perhaps they can work out a deal. Always speak respectfully to the service staff--never fly off the handle. If the service manager says it's out of his hands, tell him you'd like to speak with the regional service/warranty representative the next time he/she is in the area. Try and set up an appointment with that person to let them look at the car at the dealership. Make sure he's there to talk with them when they're looking at his vehicle. If he insists it's a wear item and that it's not covered, request if he'll do a goodwill policy shift on the warranty.
If all that doesn't work, Kia should have a customer service number/e-mail address. Have him explain the situation to them.

Q: Is my transmission going out already? 2006 Kia Spectra?
Ok so my 06 has about 11500 miles on it and I notice when im cruising along in 3rd gear (automatic) it will sit there and won't upshift into 4th for a couple of miles. Its like I have the gear selector in 3rd the entire and I have it in D.
Could this be caused by a failing transmission? If so it should be under Factory warranty right?
Fluid is topped off and looks good.
The car was bought used but the factory warranty should still apply right?
It wasn't bought at a Kia dealership.
I usually go like 40-50 mph and it won't upshift. It just started doing this a couple of weeks ago.
A: Here is the nice thing about Kia that is not advertised in there little commercials. The Kia factory warranty is non-transferable to a 2nd party.
We had a Kia in the shop a few weeks ago with 97,000 miles (approx). The warranty was stated as being good for 100,000 miles. Customer lost forward and reverse gears. Since it was less than 100k, he called the dealer and they told him he was SOL. To get a junkyard transmission was several thousand dollars and to have it rebuilt was over $3,000.
You may try to have it repaired under warranty, but my recommendation is to not buy another piece of Korean shit.
