Q: Dead mouse -- how do I get to the fan in a 2005 kia spectra?
I have a dead mouse by my fan cage. How do I get to the fan so I can remove it? Can I go about it from under the glove compartment, under the car or on the engine side of the firewall?

A: it is on the pass side of the veh wright above your feet there are 3 screws that hold it in place sometimes there a cover over the fan to get to the screws a it is held in with clips just pull and it will come loose

What could cause the A/T on a 2005 Kia spectra (less than 37,000 miles) slip? ..or to have really rough,harsh shifts when downshifting AND upshifting?? This car still has not been in my stable for very long (Still has the temporay tag in window) and was purchased used.... The problem is not consistent..but happens often...did I get a bum steer?? Dealer ship is going to look at it Monday...Any thoughts or comments before then would be appreciated....

A: if it only has 37,000 miles, you should be under warranty correct? If it is under warranty just have the dealership test drive it and diagnose it. Just make sure they dont try to steal your money. I also think it would be hard to find a shop who will do it cheaper than a dealership since a 2005 specta transmission is probably somewhat hard to get. If you want to try to fix it yourself, go to a parts store and buy the lucas oil transmission fix. I had trouble with my transmission in my corolla. It would kinda hestitate during shift. Changed the trans oil, filter and put the additive in and fixed it.

A: If you can afford $10K for a used one, you can afford $12K for a new one. Just make the payments 60 months. You have between 2 minutes and 3 days to back out depending on whiat state you live in. Kia's depreciate very fast and you paid top dollar for it. And if it says on the form in the window "No Warranty - As Is", then the dealer does not have to do squat for repairs.

My girlfriend owns an 05 Kia Spectra 5. She's come across a few problems and I'm wondering if anyone has had the same or maybe somewhere I can research it. When the car is stopped, it starts to rev erratically. (it's a 5 speed manual). Plus, the front bumper is starting to actually come off and she's been in no accidents. Any help?

A: She likely needs regular service such as cleaning the injectors and throttle body to cure the idle. The bumper is probably detached from running up on parking curbs and breaking the retaining clips, see a body shop for this.

i have a '05 Kia spectra. the Check engine light came on about 2 weeks ago, and still hasnt gone away, First thing i checked was gas cap. That has happened before, of when the gas cap wasnt "clicked on" all the way... so its not that... i opened the hood... and to tell you the truth, not sure of what i was looking for... so what else could it be? I'd rather not have to spend alot of money on trying to fix it, but i'd like to know of what could be causing this. Q: 2005 Kia Spectra shakes a little when idle...?
Getting it checked out tomorrow. Does this sound like something that should be covered under my warranty? They said that normal wear and tear or maintenance (like sparkplugs) are not covered under the warranty.

A: No, spark plugs would not be considered warranty, or plug wires either, if you have a lot of miles on it... One thing to have checked is all those little rubber vacuum hoses around the engine compartment. If one is split, or brittle, or just broke off, it will give you rough idle...

A: Your "real" problerm isn't the fuse box. The problem is you bought a Kia, buy a Ford next time! Cars are one of those things that you get what you pay for. Kia's don't cost that much.
