Q: kia sorento?
the new kia sorento is supposed to have 10 speakers. where are the speakers in these located. is the new delphi an upgrade to the 6 speaker system before on 03-06 models?

A: There should be speakers on the doors, behind the back seats by the head rests, by the seat belts, maybe by your feet too.

Q: what could be wrong with the kia sorento?
2003 kia sorento showing misfire on cylinders 1 and 3 - what could this mean?

A: It means you have a misfire. Get it to a shop so they can inspect it properly and get an estimate on repairing it.

Q: What are the pros/cons of the new Kia Sorento?
I am thinking about purchasing a Kia Sorento. How is gas mileage in your opinion? I know that gas prices are soaring everywhere so I know that I will pay at the pump. Other then that, how would you rate them overall?

A: Good choice. Cheap to buy, own, good on gas for the size and power of the car. Long warranty.

Q: something wrong with my friends Kia Sorento LX?
my friend has a black KIA Sorento LX and it keeps on leaking Anti freeze. And I told her to have it serviced. How can she stop it from leaking? with out having to take it to the dealer?

A: We can't help you until you let us know where exactly it's leaking from. It might need a new hose. Or a hose clamp needs tightening. Or the radiator has a hole in it and you might be able to patch it.

Q: What are some top fuel efficient midsize suvs on the market today? Kia Sorento? Honda Pilot?

Q: Trying to find the best convertible car seat for a Kia Sorento. Any recommendations?
I bought the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 and do not like it. Any input would be appreciated. Doesn't have to be for a Kia Sorento but for a SUV on the small side. Thanks in advance!

A: RUN and return the Eddie Bauer 3-in-1. It is the same seat as the Safety1st/Cosco Alpha Omega/Alpha Omega Elite and it will definitely not be the last car seat buy, like the box says. These car seats are good for only one thing - rear facing. That is b/c they go up to 35lbs rear facing and babies should stay rear facing as long as possible. 12months/1 years is the bare minimum for when you can turn a baby forward facing, they are safest rear facing and the American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends rear facing to the limits of the car seat. Like I said though, that is ALL the seat is good for. And since all Cosco/Safety1st/Dorel/EddieBauer convertible car seats rear face to 35lbs, get a Cosco Scenera for $40 at Walmart if you want the extended rear facing capabilities. It won't last very long as a forward facing car seat, though. When shopping for a car seat, you want to find a seat that fits your child (and hopefully will fit your child for a long time), fits your car and will be used correctly 100% of the time. This means looking for a seat that has high rear and forward facing weight/height limits, and tall top harness slots (where the harness sits at the shoulder. For comparison - the 3-in-ones top harness slots are 14.5inches, most likely not high enough to enable your child to use the seat to the full 40lbs harnesses (you have to remove the harness to use as a booster either when a child reaches 40lbs, or his shoulders are over the top slots). So, you would likely need another harnessed seat shortly after his 2-3rd birthday, as you don't want to put a 2 or 3 year old in a booster seat. Most kids are not ready for a booster seat until at least 5 years old, and some later. Kids should be kept in a 5 point harness as long as possible. Actually, most seats you'll find at Walmart have really short top harness slots: Graco Comfort Sport & Cosco Touriva & Safety1st Enspire, 14.5inches. Compare that to a Britax Marathon, which has 17inch top slots AND a 65lbs forward facing weight limit (33lbs rear facing, too!) and you can see where it is well worth money b/c it will last usually twice as long as other seats. It minimizes the number of car seats you have to buy, saving money in the long run. It also fits easily in 99% of cars. I'm a member of a car seat forum (see below) that has CPSTs on it, I've yet to see a post where a Marathon did not fit in a vehicle. It fits so many different cars b/c of the shape the base is. As for the Evenflo Triumph, do not get it unless you are planning to replace it when the child is 15months - 2 years old with another expensive harnessed seat. The short seat shell means most kids outgrow it long before they reach the 40lbs weight limit, and it only rear faces to 30lbs. My son outgrew his at 35lbs, 24 months old, and I had to rush around trying to find another harnessed seat. DO consider the brand new Evenflo Triumph Advance -its not in all stores yet, but is getting there and is already in some Babies R Us and Walmart stores. It rear faces to 35lbs, and forward faces to 30lbs, with 17 inch top slots, has a plush cover similar to Britax, and an 'infinite height adjustment' system making harness slot adjustments easier than ever. $129 at Walmart for base not as luxurious model, $150 at Babies R Us for plush model. If you need it right now, go online to here: http://store.babycenter.com/product/on+sale/gear+on+sale/car+seats/safe+voyage+deluxe+convertible+car+seat.do?asc=false and buy a Fisher Price Safe Voyage convertible car seat at half price! This is a seat made by Britax for Fisher Price at a fraction of the cost. Rear faces to 33lbs, forward faces to 55lbs, with top slots at 17 inches, will usually last a child to 5 years old. Always my best recommendation, however, is to fork it over for a Britax Marathon. As a single mom, I don't take putting down a lot of money for a car seat lightly, but it is worth it in every way. The seat has built-in lockoffs, so you never have to use a locking clip again. And installation is so easy I can now get it in and out in less than 2 minutes. It can also be tethered rear facing, adding extra stability. It saves money by limiting the amount of seats you have to buy b/c you get to use it longer, it lasts most kids until they are 5-6 years old See this site: http://www.carseatdata.org/measurements.php?tun=home You can search and see what car seats fit in vehicles like yours.

Q: Which car is better: Ford Escape or a Kia Sorento and why?
I want to buy a new SUV. I like the new 2008 Ford Escape and the Kia Sorento. I want some opinions of current owners or people who just know about cars. Thanks!

A: You know.. I don't even know which is better but I'll make a personal wager here: People will say Kia because it's the new national passtime to hate Ford. .

Q: anyone know where to find kia sorento perfomance parts?
I have a 2003 Kia Sorento and am looking to ad some h.p. Anyone know wher I can find some performance parts? Headers, dual exhaust, chips anything.

A: LOL This question is a joke right................

Q: What's the difference between a Kia Sorento LX and an EX?
I really want a Kia Sorento and I was looking at them online and realized that there was an LX and an EX... I really couldn't tell the difference except for the bottom had the silver thing. and one looked a bit longer... Please help... I really appreciate it! :D

A: They are both the same length, but the LX is the luxury version with no options because it has it all, and the EX is the the more basic version, and there are options available at an additional cost. It all depends on what options are important to you.

Q: why does my 05 kia sorento begin to stall after accelarating from a stop and misfiring?
This does not happen daily and seems to happen more often when the car has been in the heat. Any ideas what can be wrong.

A: I work on Kia's for a living, you might have a throttle position sensor going bad. Take it in and let them check it, although if it isn't acting up when you take it in they may not find anything wrong with it at this time. Also there is a recall SC073 for the induction valve, which may apply to your vehicle.

Q: Anyone know if it is possible to install fog lights on a Kia Sorento if it didn't come with them?
I just bought a 2006 Kia Sorento and I want to install fog lights...there are spots for them on the car but I was just wondering if anyone had expeirence in this...and if it is possible. Thanks for all the help in advance.

A: I'd ask the people at the dealership maybe they can even sell you some. If you don't get any good answers here try posting on Google groups. (edit: forget Google groups) Also check out this site: (just found it) http://www.sorentosite.com/forum/ Look in the 'Garage' section. Some NICE Sorentos on there!

Q: What is your satisfaction rating of a Kia Sorento?
Is the SUV reliable, have you had any major problems, how satisfied are you? How does it compare to its peers? I've looked at consumer reports, just wanted to see what yahoo users have to say.

A: If you are interested to see what other users have to say read reviews of the 2005 model here, http://www.epinions.com/pr-Cars-2005_Kia_Sorento/display_~reviews The 2004 Sorento here, http://www.epinions.com/auto_Make-2004_Kia_Sorento_1/display_~reviews The 2003 Sorento here, http://www.epinions.com/auto_Make-2003_Kia_Sorento/display_~reviews These are reviews by other owners, I personally do not have one so I cannot comment on it.

Q: 2004 kia Sorento emergency fuel shutoff?
I have a 2004 Kia Sorento. recently the car was in a collision. the airbags were deployed and the car will not start. I am positive it is due to the emergency fuel cutoff relay / switch. does anybody know how to reset this relay / switch? thanks walt just for the record i found the answer. there is a black rubber button on the right fender well under the hood. just push it and the engine will start right back up again.

A: Kia vehicles do not have a fuel pump cut-off-reset switch. That safety feature (aka; fuel inertia switch ) is exclusive to Ford Motor Company vehicles. (as far as i know)

Q: How do I adjust the headlights on a Kia Sorento they are to low?
The car has just had a mot and I think they set them to low for the mot

A: Most cars these days have a knurled wheel somewhere near the dashboard to adjust the height to allow for extra weight in the boot. I don't know about your car specifically, but it should be relatively easy to find.

Q: How much should I pay to replace a heater core in a 2003 Kia Sorento?
I've had a number of problems with this vehicle. The driver side headlight bulb has had to be replaced a handful of times. The Coolant reservoir has cracked and had to be replaced and now the heater core is apparently leaking coolant into the interior of the car and is pooling on the passenger side floor. Midas is quoting me over a $1000.

A: sounds right the heater core is a dealer ONLY part so that's probably 400 bucks and MANY heater cores take 10 or 12 hours to do MANY require discharging the A/C and obviously recharging... I would telephone a KIA dealer and a reputable independant... Midas is good for Exhaust and brakes but be careful with such a detailed job they only pay their workers 8 or 10 bucks an hour and you know the old saying you get what you pay for...
