Q: How do I know if the water pump on my 2003 KIA Sedona is leaking>?
car is in the shop to have the belts replaced, and they are saying that when they took the cover off they saw some "seapage" coming from the water pump.
A: Take that cover off and look at it (to be a smart-xxxxxx)
Seapage is normally the sign of the seal on the bearing going out (there is a hole called a seap hole - intended JUST for this type of inspection) it can also mean the bearing is going out (and that causes the seal to leak). You "may" get away with not replacing it for a while / but they will charge you a lot more to take it all apart and replace it later. How much later is the only question once it is leaking.
Go into the shop and ask them to "see" it - it is not too hard to see if it is or has been leaking.
Q: How do I change the serpentine belt on my 2003 Kia Sedona?
The manual has no info for me. I need to know how to and something with a diagram would be nice. From visual inspection there are two seperate belts close in area. Are there two serpentine belts or is one of them something else? They look the same just wrapped around different things. I'm not just a girl and I want to take care of my own vehicle but I am lost about this and I could use some info. I do not want to take my mini into some shop so they can charge me an arm and a leg for something I'm sure I can do. Any valid info would be helpful, I have searched the internet with no progress, except I did find this place. Thanks.

Kia and hyundai are the only manufacturers that give their service manuals free online.. after registering, you will have the same info as a dealer tech.. just go look for it under engines
those things use two seperate belts to run all the accessories (usually one is alternator and power steering, the other is for the a/c) and will require both to be replaced
Q: my 2003 Kia Sedona won't turnover; checked battery & it's good. How can I check if it's a bad alternator?
A: Crank it up and see what the alternator output is.
The alternator has nothing to do with cranking. If battery is good, your starter is suspect.
Q: What is more reliable: 2003 Kia Sedona or 2000 Chrystler Town & Country?
I just need it to last without any MAJOR repair.
A: I haven't see a Chrysler yet that was reliable. But the Chrysler is a nicer and better made car. The KIA is a cheaper made car, and what seems to be a more reliable car. But if either one would brake down, the expense would be about the same. The Chrysler would be easier to get parts for then the KIA.
Q: Please does anyone know how much a starter motor costs for a 2003 Kia Sedona and roughly how long to fit it.?
A: Hello try halfords , moter world and Av Taylors or any car accessory shop it should take around 30 mins to fit all goes well think its 4 bolts 13mm <---mechanic or u could also ask a garage 2 order the parts for you
Q: How hard is it to replace a TPS on a 2003 kia sedona?
A: 1. Locate the air intake where the plastic hose from the air filter attaches to the plenum.
2. Locate the throttle plate.
3. On the opposite side of the throttle shaft you'll find the TPS.
Only takes a few minutes to replace.
Good Luck

Q: Can I replace the front brakes on my 2003 Kia sedona myself?
A: Yes; generally speaking front disc brakes are easy to change especially on Japanese cars because they are small and in my opinion %$#@!!!
However there are usually 2 bolts that hold a caliper to a spindle on the front end. If you remove the top bolt the caliper will pivot on the bottom bolt. Remove the pads and open the bleeder screw on the back of the caliper. push the piston in the caliper in util there is enough room to reinstall the new pads that are thicker than the old wore out pads. CLOSE the bleeder screw, re-assemble the break calliper. get in the car and pump the breaks and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BREAK PRESSURE!!!
If it is squishy it is because you got air in the line when you opened the bleeder screw (small screw on back of caliper with hole through the middle) use a small 1/4" clear hose and a mason jar. put the hose on the bleeder scres and the mason jar on the ground under the caliper with the oposite end of the hose in the jar. Put some brake fluid in the jar about 1/4 of a cup so that the end of the hose is submerged. open the bleeder screw again pump the breaks (it helps to have someone else watch the jar to see when the bubbles in the jar stop appearing especially on the passenger side that you can't see from the drivers seat). Once the bubbles stop tighten the bleeder screw and pump the breaks. At this point you should have full break pressure. Anything less than full break pressure don't fricken drive it!!! I just had a friend do some front end work and forgot to bleed his breaks. he left his driveway and roled down the street right into someone elses house!!
I consider myself to be smarter than the average mechanic. I personally trust myself more to. I wouldn't hurt to pick up a chilton's manual for your car when your at the strore buying break fluid, and pads. The parts store should also carry a small tool for bleading breaks. It looks a lot like a breast pump!!!
Q: Is there a camber alinement ajustment on a 2003 kia sedona?

put it on neutral and remove the emergency brake
Q: 2003 Kia Sedona power drivers seat not working?
My power drivers seat has stopped working. All functions have stopped which makes me think it is a fuse, but I can't find a fuse for the front seat. The passenger power seat still functions.
Has anyone had this problem? (Do you know how to fix?)
A: Plug it back in. (under the seat)
Q: where is air filter located on a 2003 kia sedona?
A: It's in the black box in between the engine and the battery.
Q: I have a 2003 Kia Sedona. Passenger rear door handle broke off.Where can I buy one? Dealer wants too much!?
A: Hi, I wonder if you have a auto salvage yard in your area? They may have one or send out a request on their computer system to find you one.You may be able to find a salvage yard doing a search yourself.Good Luck.
Q: 2003 kia sedona door locks?
I cannot lock/unlock any door electronically, meaning either with the keyless entry or by pushing the "all locks" button on the doors. We had to replace the alternator prior to this problem, is that what caused it? All other electrical devices work. ie windows, stereo, lights etc. Would like as much advance knowledge before having to deal with dealership
A: You will have to go to the dealer anyway, the body control module has probably been erased,it does not recognize the signal from the key fob or door switch input,it needs to be reprogrammed.(for your info this is called code saving)
Q: 2003 Kia Sedona- Anyone having thud noise from the strut area too? Any real fix?
A: This is a widespread problem with this particular model that Kia doesn't seem to want to address. Go to www.kiaforums.com

Q: Kia Sedona automatic transmission problem?
I have a 2003 kia sedona, with automatic transmission. the 'problem' occured when I put the gear in Reverse, it moves slowly even you press the accellator, then, i shifted the gear in 'Drive' and there is a slight 'tud' sound. is there any problem with my transmission or does it require any transmission fluid? please advise. thanks
A: -When was the last time you had the transmission serviced(new fluid and filter)? Kia and Hyundai transmissions are cruddy if they are not taken care of.
-When was the last time you checked the fluid level?
-Are you the first owner? if not, do you think the first owner probably beat the hell out of the van?
-Doesn't you van come with a 100,000 mile warranty?
