Q: How do you fix a break light on a 2005 Kia Rio
Nobody can figure out how to get the bulb out without breaking it and when I called the dealer they told me it would be $20 - $30 and I think that's a bit much to spend on something that can be done myself.
I already did a google search and didn't come up with much. Also, it sounds like it would be a simple job but seriously nobody can figure out how to get the bulb out without breaking it.
A: With that simple of a car you should be able to reach into the trunk, pull forward the carpeting, and replace the bulb. It should twist out and then in.
I hope this helps.
Q: pros and cons of the 2005 kia rio hatchback?
We want to go with a car that is good on gas,we found a car we like but we really want to know what current and previous owners think of this car.
Please share all you personally know about this car. I don't reviews from websites,I read them all,I would like personal accounts.
A: An excellent car in every way.
Cannot point out any cons - but would have liked a bigger
petroltank - only 45 litres.
Q: Kia 2005 Rio Manual Transmission problem. Clutch won't engages-clutch pedal goes to floor, and shifter goes in
into all gears but car does not go anywhere. Car stays running while in gear even when you let off the clutch. Anyone know what's wrong?
A: Yeah you need a new clutch kit installed and make sure the shop resurfaces the flywheel while you are at it or you will be doing it again in six months. Also use a quality clutch kit, not one from autozone.
Q: Auto Mechanic: I recently purchased a 2005 Kia Rio and I need to know what type of motor oil is takes?
A: Hi, Holly-
Go ahead and simply check your auto manual. It will tell you. You can also look at the oil cap, which is usually directly on top of the engine. It will have the oil grade imprinted on the cap. When you have the oil changed, be sure to also check your manual to see how many quarts your engine needs. Most cars use five, but a lot of Kias need only 4 or four and a half. Be sure the mechanic puts a new oil filter on as well.
Q: 2005 Kia Rio for $5995 with only 55K miles...?
I found a Kia Rio for sale for $5995 with 55K miles, i know that's a bit too many for a 2005 model which should only have about 36K miles, I've also heard i should stick to hondas, nissans, or toyotas but is it a good deal or should i skip it and save me the hassel???
A: Look in www.autotrader.com I don't think Kia is still as good as the rest of the cars. You can buy a new one, a 07 for less than 10k. Try Hyunday, Nissan, Ford Focus...

Q: My 2005 Kia Rio is leaking antifreeze in a slow drip. Dealership says they can't find a leak!?
I only notice this leak when it gets around 20 degrees (F) or less. The day I took my car to the dealership for the 60k mile checkup, it was much warmer and they said they could not find any leaks, nor could they force it to leak with pressure. My car is not overheating and seems to be running fine (despite the fact that it's 10 degrees outside) but drips pretty steadily in the really low temps. I'm wondering if it's possible that some components are shrinking/expanding at different rates than others within the cooling system. If so, does it require immediate attention? This car was purchased brand new in California, and this is its first winter in sub-zero temps. Do they make an antifreeze of a different viscosity/composition for cold weather?
A: Obviously the tech that looked at the vehicle doesn't know what he's doing. I would go to another shop and have it pressure tested (drop the car off for a couple hours and let them keep the pressure tester on it) and this will find the source of the leak, even if it is slow.
Q: kia rio 2005 wiper fluid blockage?
the thing for the washer fluid in my car is blocked, and i can't get it to spray my windshield. i can hear the motor running, and i know the tank is full, no leaks or anything. has anyone else had this problem? i still have a warranty on it, so would my best option be to take it to the dealership and have them fix it?
A: YOU CAN TRY AND TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT MOST LIKELY THEY WILL TRY AND SELL YOU THE WHOLE THING.
CALL THEM FIRST AND ASK THEM IF THERE WILL BE A CHARGE.
Q: where can i buy pARTS FOR MY KIA RIO 2005?
A: there are several places...the dealer..highest price..or stores like autozone, napa, ect. with more selection and price range
Q: HI i want user manual for my car. my car is "kia rio 2005" i want english user manual in "PDF" format

Q: 05 Kia Rio timing belt broke, engine screwed, warranty trouble... need advice!?
I bought a 2005 Kia Rio a year ago, the dealership extened the 100k 10 year warranty on the car to me. The car had 45k miles on it when I bought it and I was insured that the car had been serviced accordingly. Within the first few months the brakes needed to be done, two tires had to be replaced, my battery died and my altnator almost fell out, I had to have the bolts replaced on that. At 83k miles my timing belt broke, scratching the pistions and bending ALL of my valves. The engine is screwed. The dealership referred me to a local Kia Dealer who looked at my car charged me for taking it apart and told me I wasn't covered because it's a maintanance thing. The manual does NOT say to change the belt only to have it checked. What do I do? First time car buyer, Got screwed on interest rates, owe 12,000 on the car.. yeah I'm a retard to begin with, but is there ANYONE or ANYTHING at this point that can get them to honor the warranty? Or am I on my own?
A: are you saying you went to an independant repair shop when the timing belt broke? If you did Im afraid your probably screwed! Kia has the right to demand the repairs be performed by a certified Kia dealer. the owners manual has a maintance schedule that tells you when to replace or check the belt and they should have been the ones to check it at that time then if it failed they would be forced to honor it.
Q: Which car stereo system is good for metal?
I happen to drive a 2005 Kia rio with a stock stereo system, but it still plays my metallica CDs fairly well, due to the strong bass signals it puts out.It seems to me though the import crowd likes japanese cars also because the sound systems seems well adept to play Hip-Hop and R&B type misic, since such much of it depends on the Bass as well.
A: any system will play any tunes you want, its all in the way you set it up. Are you running any amps aftermarket speakers? or just stock? emaill me at wiringtheworld@yahoo.ca i'll set you up .
Q: help how to get rid of unwanted car?
my husband and I bought a kia rio 2005 a real lemon, any way his mom is giving us a extream sport truck real nice.We are in a bad situation we owe 14.500 on the kia with high payments big mistake on our part.We want to get rid of the kia due to finacial difficultys with out a repo or any thing bad on us.thanks for any ideas.
A: You are in a bad situation in that you owe considerably more than the car is currently worth. At the most the Kia is worth about 10,000 retail. You may be able to get a personal loan for the difference between the payoff and the amount you get selling the car.
Are you figuring the total you owe by adding up the remaining payments, or did you contact the bank for a payoff figure?
Q: First Time Buying -- Car Need Tips and Advice?
So this saturday I am going to a dealership named World Car Kia to purchase a 2005 Kia Rio. I wanted a 06 Rio because its so different compared to older Rios but I spoke to my auto insurance agency and I was able to knock off 200+ $ off my quote so thats great. So my question to everyone is how do i approach the dealership about doing this whole ordeal? I was preapproved for 5500 from my bank and I have 2500 saved up. The car is said to be 7900-8500 from a salesperson over the phone, riiiighhht. Since I have the loan approved is it good to go to the dealer and say I want this Rio and I am offerering you 7000 cash? To bad i am going to the dealer on a saturday when my bank is closed so I will leave without the vehicle until monday when I get my auto insurance and my bank can recieve the buyers order. What do you think I should tell them so that I get a lower price rather than paying the full 8000 I have to spend. I would love to buy a car in "cash" so to speak with 7000. Is it do-able?
so then when I offer them a price i can say i have "6000" even though i have 2500 in my bank (debit) and my bank loaned me 5500? Or would they consider the 5500 not cash up front? Also the vehicle has 40,568 miles on it. This is a Kia dealership so I know I will find other 2005 Kia Rios with less miles. I just want to be able to save money and not spend my absolute max of 8000 total (2500(me) + 5500(bank))
A: Is it new or used? If it's used.....
$7000 is a very fair price and you should have no problem doing that.
I am a commercial manager for a large dealership in NC. My advice, start around $6000 because they will try to bump you.
They will also try to talk you into letting them pull your credit . They will do this and try to give you this line. "Our banks are very competitve with other banks rates, in most cases we can beat what your bank offers because we work with x amount." "You wouldn't mind to see how much money I could save you? Would You?" All while they are nodding their head yes, to try to get you to go ahead with that.
There are 2 reasons they will try this. (1) So they can make money and hold back a point or two on the rate. For instance, they might offer you 8.25% when the bank said 7.25%. That way they make 1% of $7000 on the back end. (2) So they can sell you a car on Saturday. They do not want you to leave! 80% of people that leave never return. So they will do anything they can do to get you to stay.
Black Book value on this car (depending on miles and equipment ) is......
w/ power package
(X-tra Clean-8175) (Clean-7685) (Avg.-6925) (Rough-5725)
If it does not have:
Power Pack -$175
Factory A/C -$1050
Auto Trans -$550
Keep an eye on the mileage. If it has more than 30K it reduces rough book value even more.
Wagons are worth approx $500 more
I fully believe they took this vehicle in on trade or at an auction for rough book. So $7000 is fair.
Remember not to let them have control! If you have control you will get it for $7000 or lower and get some free stuff thrown in as well. If you get a really good deal, TAKE IT! Don't be stupid and leave. Ask them if you can take it home with you. In most states this won't be a problem, but they may want you to sign a promissory note that says you agree to pay x amount of dollars for the car on Monday when your bank opens.
Don't be tense! This should be a fun day for you. If you get a Salesman that is pushy or doesn't know his product, just ask for someone else.
Have Fun and Enjoy YOUR New Ride!!!
