Q: where can i find some body kits for my 2005 kia optima?

Q: how do you adjust the headlights on a 2005 kia optima?

A: something to try is to park vehicle on level surface approx 25 ft from wall and turn lites on and point at wall. notice where lites are at now. make a mark on wall or tape paper for a reference point. use a small to medium phillips screwdriver with hood open and look for adjuster screws. they look similar to a bottle cap and are turned sideways. there is a hole for the driver to fit in. on each head lite assembly, there is an adjustment for left/right and lower/raise. make adjustments accordingly. be nice to other drivers, not too high please. drive, readjust until they're where you like them.

Q: I have a 2005 Kia Optima with 52,000 miles I have a high pitched howl coming from the driver side at 75+ mph?
I have tried to close the air vent to recirculate but it still howls. It is intermittent at 75 but comes out almost constantly by 80, and when i get to 90 its constant. I don't think its the wheel bearings because it only happens at those higher speeds. I also don't have any vibration. I got the car at 48,000 miles. :Just a little note: Every once in a while it wont howl. So im dumbfounded as to why it does that. Thanks for you input and time. I only went up to 90 to see if it got worse or went away. I usually cruise at 75 to 80.

A: It's because you hate the car, but can't voice your true opinions about it, because if your wife hears you say one more word about it she'll just explode...

Q: My Kia Optima 4 cyl. is rated for 33 hwy 28 city why am i only getting 23 mpg. i dont accerlate fast either.?

A: Have you tuned it up and inflated the tires?

Q: With gasoline switching over to ethanol like they say on the news can this gasoline run in all vehicles?
I drive a 2005 Kia Optima

A: The ethanol levels that they are using to replace MTBE is a low level and will work in the overwhelming majority of cars on the road these days. If you want to use a higher ethanol % then you need a specific engine type. These new cars and trucks are being developed by GM and other companies and the filling stations are very limited.

Q: What is the "fuel temperature sensor" and what role does it play in the engine?
My Check Engine light came on and it's returning a p0183 "fuel temperature sensor" with the description of "The powertrain control module used the input from this sensor for emission control systems." To me, that says this sensor let's the emission system know what "level" to work at depending on the temperature of the fuel. However, I'm not a mechanic or I wouldn't be here! =) I mainly want to know what how this affects the driveability of my car (a 2005 Kia Optima - 4cyl). The dealership mechanic said as long as the light isn't flashing, I'm ok to drive it. I had AutoZone plug back in and let me reset the light to see if it would come back and it hasn't yet. Would that indicate the light was a mistake, or would this type of issue not cause the light to come back on even though the problem still exists?

A: You have it figured out. The engine controller operates in a system called "closed loop" where it makes decisions to control engine (emissions) operatoin based on many specific factors. The Fuel temp sensor helps the engine to know how much fuel to inject as hotter fuel is less dense than cooler fuel, therefore it can change the emissions level and economy if hot fuel were injected at cool fuel rates, or vice-versa. Driveability wise the effect would be poorer economy. Other than that nothing, as when the controller sees an out of range reading from that sensor it just uses a default reading for that sensor. Be aware however that you will not be able to pass emissions if you have to where you live as the emissions tester will check to see if there are any pending diagnostic tests that need to be run...which there will be, since the AutoZone scanner just cleared the SES light. As far as the light not coming back on, perhaps it was a poor connection that caused a high resistance and errouneous reading, and now you have hit a bump in the road that had changed the connction to cause the problem not to occur. Realistically, the controller has a logic function where it will accept incorrect data for a while on certain sensors before giving a code. This can take a few weeks or more for the code to come back depending on driving and operating conditions. Will it kill the car...no. Should you get it fixed? Yes. Remember you will have to get it fixed before it will pass emissions.

Q: Is this a good deal or no?
Its a 2005 (carfax shows it was bought in 2004) kia optima lx sedan and it has 34,157 miles on it and it still has 5 years or 50,000 miles warranty on it, and it is 9,995. The outside is in perfect condition and the inside is not that bad. Am i getting ripped off or does this sound like a good deal?

A: The 5 years you got left in warranty is not a full warranty its called a power train warranty, and 99% of the time it does not come into play unless your engine blows. As for you getting ripped off take 15 minutes out off your life to save mega bucks http://www.usedcartips.org/ and study my 10 steps.
