A: You're going to need a mounting kit and harness the mounting kit should be part #99-7314 and the harness should be part #70-7301. Once you have those then remove the center plate, I believe it just unclips. You may need to remove the heater control cable or two. Then unbolt the radio. reverse these steps for the installation.

A: Find an manual for it. I think they are called mitchell manuals. They usually show you step by step on how to do it.

I have a 2003 Kia Optima and when I unlock my doors there is a loud buzzer-like sound that occurs in the driver door. It doesn't happen when the doors lock or when I unlock by my key. Has anyone had something like this happen, know what the problem is or how to repair/cost of repair?? Thanks!

Q: 2003 Kia Optima driver's door will not open from inside or from the outside, can I fix this myself? and how?
This car was purchased brand new and has had a huge number of problems for which it has had to be taken back to the dealership for repairs. The current problems are that the driver's door cannot be opened at all and I am having to enter and exit through the passenger side door. Is this something I can fix myself? Is it a bad computer chip or something? It also seems to have a problem with overheating. The meter will go into the red, but the car doesn't seem to start steaming or smoking and hasn't actually stopped running because of this even though I try not to travel more than 30 minutes at a time for fear that the car will stop. The dealership has addressed this problem 3 times already. Can anyone help?
A: i own a repair shop,and you can probably fix the door part of it your self,but the rest of it needs to be done at the dealer,you need a different dealer the one your dealing with seems to not know what there doing on that car,as for the door the rod that opens the door have came unhooked from the latch or the handle,id say there off at the latch though,but you still have to get the door open to get to them,if i had the problems your having from that one i think i would trade it or get rid of it,usually KIA,s are real good cars,and this one sounds like its been a problem car for a while now,but try a different dealer,some one should be able to figure this one out,i know i could,but I'm not there good luck i hope this helps.

I have issues with my lock on the drivers side. Ok when i turn the key once it is suppose to unlock the drivers door and twice to unlock all the other doors when did on the drivers side. However i cant get my drivers door to act right. When i put the key in and unlock the door it will unlock but when i pull the latch it will automatically lock right back(this is only on the drivers side the others work fine). On the inside of the car i can see that the lock is not coming all of the way out. Does anyone know what this could be.

A: .you don't have an alternator problem, you have a bad connection between your alternator and battery. you are also getting bad advice from whom ever is selling you an alternator over and over again. also you might try checking all of your fuses one by one pulling one at a time out to make sure that the fuse is not blown. i have fixed many problems just by replacing fuses.
Q: I just bought a 2003 Kia Optima, I'm not getting much milage on gas, and my side door has trouble opening?
I have a 15 gallon gas tank and it just had a tune up, the air filter looks pretty clean, and I cant figure out why I'm only getting about 300-320 miles to the tank. I do a combination of highway and city driving. What can I do to maybe purify this a little better.
Also, My passanger lock is impossible to get the door open, you have to open it at exactly the right moment as its being unlock and I'm going to have it looked at its under warrenty and all, but even the dealer is baffled. And once its unlocked and you try to open it, it will relock itself, I know this is not a securtiy feature of any kind, all the other doors work fine.
A: Make that warranty work for you, don't let it run out - then you're stuck with the problem. The dealer has to fix the door for you, even if they have to give you a whole new door.
As for mileage, did the FUEL filter get changed during the tuneup? Because it might improve mileage a bit.

A: In the 90's Kia's and Hyundai's were bad cars.
Bad clutches, engines seizing.
From 2000-2003, they started to improve and people started to notice them.
From 2003 and on, they are great cars. No common problems.
The Kia Spectra is a great first car. Cheap, easy to park, good on gas.

I have a 2003 Kia Optima, I got a loan on it in 2006. I still owe $8,000 on my loan and there is already 108K on it. So far I put over $2500 into this car, fixing the wheels, Routers, Windows, The Door won't open, Cup holder broke, WindShield wipers are about to go.
So what can I do to get into a better car, My credit is not the best.

A: I'm sorry.. just looked at the blue book on your car and you are in a horrible position. You may be upside down five to six thousand dollars so unless you can afford to have that financed into a new a car loan, you may just have to keep driving it and repairing it as you're able.
